Noah Luna began his compositional training at De Anza College under the direction of Dr. Paul Setziol. Here, he studied form, counterpoint, pitch set theory, and orchestration while gaining a particular affinity for choral music. A graduate of CSU East Bay in Hayward, CA (BA, Music) and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (MM, Music), Noah Luna has made a name for himself as one of the bay area's most prominent emerging composers. Since earning his Master's Degree at SFCM, Luna has been commissioned by numerous Bay Area performers, such as Meerenai Shim, AREON Flutes, the Friction Quartet, the Fill-a-Steins (Members of Chanticleer, Clerestory, and IOCSF), as well as participated in ongoing collaborations with the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, and was a member of the Berkeley Symphony's "Under Construction Project." Upcoming projects include: the score for an independent documentary "Drawing Dead" about online poker, a new work for the Friction Quartet, and a work for chamber orchestra and voice.
